Bologna’s bid to sign Alessio Cerci from Atletico Madrid appears to have collapsed yet again.

The winger had been on the verge of completing the move over the summer, but failed a medical on transfer deadline day.

Six months on and La Gazzetta dello Sport claim the negotiations have broken down once more, this time for a different reason.

It seems as if the two clubs could not agree on the terms of the deal and Bologna pulled out.

The 29-year-old’s career has gone into freefall since he left Torino for €15m in August 2014.

He struggled for playing time in Madrid, then on loan spells at Milan and Genoa.

His contract is due to expire at the end of the season, so the six-month loan would effectively take him to the end of his time with Atleti.
