Sassuolo boss Eusebio Di Francesco says it is impossible to compare football to war after comments made by Eugenio Corini.

The Palermo Coach stated that every match in charge of the Sicily club was 'like Hiroshima,' in reference to the atomic bombings carried out by American military forces in Japan during the Second World War.

However, speaking at the Press conference to preview the meeting between the two teams, Di Francesco made clear that while he understands Corini's predicament, he cannot condone the comparison.

"It is not easy to be a Coach in that situation. Sometimes you exasperate what you say but football is not comparable to war."

The Neroverdi Coach then discussed today's match, which sees both teams involved at the wrong end of the Serie A table.

"The cold has not helped us and we have some problems with our line-up. We have lost another appeal and it would be better if that didn't happen anymore.

"It will be a difficult game, they are not at the last-chance saloon yet.

"In this month of January it will be important to get everyone back to the best physical shape. We are emroiled in the relegation battle, just like Palermo."
