Sassuolo director Giovanni Carnevali confirms they “turned down” a Leicester City offer for Francesco Acerbi, but “Roma didn’t ask for Gregoire Defrel.”
The Neroverdi have been at the centre of transfer speculation this month and are resisting proposals for their star names.
“Roma did not directly ask us for Defrel and in any case we won’t sell him in this transfer session because we don’t want to weaken the squad,” director general Carnevali told Tuttomercatoweb.

“We did receive an offer from Leicester for Acerbi, but we turned it down. If there is to be any movement during this window, it’ll be to bring prospective players in.”
It is reported the Leicester City proposal for defender Acerbi was worth €13.5m, although another bid could be on the way for €14m.
