According to Italian reports, Fiorentina have agreed to sell Mauro Zarate to Watford for €2.75m and he already passed a medical.

Sky Sport Italia claim the Argentine striker is ready to sign the contract to June 2019.

Unlike English rumours of a loan, they are adamant it’s a permanent transfer worth €2.75m (£2.37m).

They also suggest Zarate has already passed a medical in Florence and his move will be made official on Monday.

He was not in the squad that beat Chievo 3-0 at the Stadio Bentegodi this evening.

Walter Mazzarri is believed to have requested Zarate for Watford and it’s a return to the Premier League.

The 29-year-old already featured for Birmingham City, West Ham United and QPR.

He only joined Fiorentina a year ago, but has struggled for playing time under Paulo Sousa.

Nonetheless, Zarate still managed to score four goals in just nine competitive games this season, most of them off the bench.
