After Sunday’s 1-0 defeat to Inter, newly-appointed Sporting Director Nicola Salerno will today meet with the President Maurizio Zamparini, according to GianlucaDiMarzio.com.

After the match, current boss Eugenio Corini admitted he needed to speak to the club as he was considering tendering his resignation.

Corini is the third Coach of the season for the Rosanero, after Davide Ballardini resigned three weeks in and Roberto De Zerbi was fired in November.

Salerno is said to be keen to stick with Corini, and will use the meeting with Zamparini as an opportunity to put forward his case after it was suggested that the club could rehire Ballardini.

Palermo are second-bottom of the Serie A table, an incredible 11 points from safety.
