Paulo Dybala’s volley and a Pjanic free kick had given them a 2-0 lead within 21 minutes, but Carlos Bacca’s sensational strike pulled one back.

Despite Manuel Locatelli’s red card, the Rossoneri pushed Juve to the end.

“We should’ve finished them off earlier and didn’t manage it, but the qualification and victory were deserved, as we were stronger on the night,” Pjanic told Rai Sport.

“If we had made it 3-0, the game would’ve been over, but we wasted too many scoring opportunities. Juve were the better team this evening and could’ve made it easier for ourselves.

“Milan have a lot of quality too, but we deserved it.”

Juventus and Napoli will meet in the Coppa Italia semi-final in Turin on March 1 and at the Stadio San Paolo on April 5.

“Napoli are a side who play good football, so it’s going to be tough for us, but also for them,” added Pjanic.

“We want to win this trophy.”
