Inter’s owners Suning Group have reportedly purchased Belgian club Excel Mouscron, marking the next step of its expansion into European football.

Calciomercato cites the Belgian Press as saying Suning will pay €9m for 90 percent of Mouscron, who are currently bottom of the country’s top tier.

The website explains the Nerazzurri could use Mouscron as a feeder club to acquire Belgian citizenship for players without EU passports.

Access to Belgian citizenship requires only three years of residence in the country, two years less than the average of other nations.

Calciomercato adds Suning is also hoping to add a Portuguese club to its portfolio, thought to be Gil Vicente.
