Paulo Sousa warned Fiorentina “didn’t have the right hunger to finish it” after a pulsating 3-3 draw with Genoa.

The Viola saw their 2-0 lead evaporate in just over two minutes, then after Nikola Kalinic had again restored the advantage gave away a late penalty.

“We could’ve killed the game off when it was 2-0, especially as it’s very difficult to play against Genoa,” the Coach told Sky Sport Italia.

“We could’ve killed the game off when it was 2-0, especially as it’s very difficult to play against Genoa,” the Coach told Sky Sport Italia.

“The team was consistent up until the first Genoa goal, then we didn’t have the right hunger to finish it. We need to improve in that area, to end this complacency.

“The situation then repeated itself after we went 3-2 up. We needed to be more determined and really take control.”

Riccardo Saponara was in the stands after his transfer from Empoli yesterday and passed a medical this morning.

“I’ll have to train with him for a while so he understands our idea of football. We hope he can give us a hand.”
