The Swiss international was left out of Coach Max Allegri’s Champions League squad at the beginning of the season after Juve acquired Dani Alves from Barcelona.

Under contract until the summer, various other outlets report that Lichtsteiner will be allowed to leave as a free agent upon its expiration.

Having made 13 starts in the league this season, it may appear that the player is important in the club’s plans, but that perhaps does not paint a true picture of the situation.

Many of these appearances are as a result of the injury to Alves and performances have been described as error-prone.
