The Viola’s season is practically over, as they are out of the Coppa Italia, Europa League and lagging well behind in the race for a top six Serie A finish.

“I talk about what happens on the field and we all share the responsibility,” said the Coach in his Press conference.

“The team has grown in terms of quality and character, but can do better, starting from tomorrow. We must do our best, at times we manage to bring home the results, at others we don’t.

“If I am still the Coach of this team, that means there is faith in me. We need unity and that is what we are looking for. Did I consider resigning? I am focused on my work and would never resign, especially during a difficult moment. I wouldn’t walk away just because it’s a tough moment – never.

“We are all disappointed, the players and fans. We want to honour the jersey and obviously when we don’t get results, that makes us sad. Fear must be transformed into motivation and anger, that is what I always work on.”

Sousa was asked if this was the most difficult moment of his career to date.

“Yes, it is. I see difficulties just as I see opportunities.”

There is bad news for Fiorentina, as Federico Bernardeschi is out with an ankle injury and Matias Vecino suspended, but Hrvoje Milic might be able to play with the aid of a protective mask after fracturing his nose in training.
