Sampdoria Coach Marco Giampaolo says his team must expect more from themselves after drawing at Palermo.

Fabio Quagliarella's last minute goal salvaged a point for the Blucerchiati in Sicily, but the Luigi Ferraris side underperformed for long periods against the relegation strugglers.

"We could have done better, we didn't adapt well to their mental state," Giampaolo admitted post-match.

"We could have done better, we didn't adapt well to their mental state," Giampaolo admitted post-match.

"We didn't accelerate in the match. The collective performance was not at the high standard of the match. We woke up in the end and I was proud of the reaction.

"We did well and were lucky at the same time to recover the result in the end, but we need to expect more of ourselves. We played a large part of the game below par."
