Radja Nainggolan admits drawing Lyon in the Europa League was “unlucky” for Roma, but wants three trophies.

The Giallorossi cruised past Villarreal 4-1 on aggregate, before being drawn against the French side in the Last 16.

“The draw was unlucky, because we’re meeting one of the strongest teams,” Nainggolan admitted, speaking to UEFA’s official website.

“At the end of the day though, if you don’t meet a strong team in this round then you definitely will in the next, so it doesn’t change much.

“You have to beat everyone to lift the trophy and that’s what we want to do.

“I know [Mapou] Yanga-Mbiwa because he played with us last season and I think he’s a top player, but their team is doing well in general.

“They beat AZ [Alkmaar] and everything seemed easy. I think we’re much stronger than AZ though, so it will be harder against us.

“We’re still in the running in three competitions, we can still win three trophies. We’re a good team and we’re certain of our quality, if we play our football I think we can beat anyone.

“I think positive results breed positive results, we’re in a great period of form and we have to continue like this.

“I’m happy with the way I’m playing and the way the team is playing.”

The Belgian international also discussed the win over Villarreal.

“We didn’t expect such a result [0-4] at Villarreal’s home, because they’ve achieved great results in Europe in recent years.

“That’s football though, we played well. I don’t think it was our best game, but we took all of our chances.

“It was a great result, and when you win 4-0 away it’s not easy to play the return leg. We made a lot of changes thinking of the tough games we’ve got to come in the Coppa Italia and the League.

“In the end we qualified and that’s all that matters.

“Honestly, when they scored the first goal and created a couple of chances to score the second I thought it could get difficult.

“In the end we defended well though. It wasn’t a great game, but we knew only the result mattered. We had a big advantage and we played with confidence.”
