Gian Piero Gasperini regrets Atalanta's lack of 'precision' in front of goal following the goalless draw with Fiorentina.

La Dea had the better of proceedings against the Viola this afternoon but were forced to settle for a point, meaning they lose ground on Napoli in the race for Champions League qualification.

"There is regret because in my opinion, with a bit more precision we could have won," Gasperini stated post-match in Bergamo.

"We needed more precision in front of goal and in the final third, we were missing the final step. It seemed like we had a little more energy than them.

"However, it's a good point, Fiorentina are a strong team with good players. For them it was a decisive match, they are 10 points behind us and it is definitely a good result."

Although La Dea are now five points behind third-place Napoli, they remain well on course to secure a surprise place in next season's Europa League.

"We realise that we are up there and that we can be in the shake-up until the end. It will be a long battle but I think we are in it."
