The Southampton striker limped off with a suspected thigh strain during today’s Premier League defeat to Tottenham Hotspur.
According to the latest reports, Gabbiadini is not able to accept the call for international duty.
Coach Giampiero Ventura has instead brought in Atalanta striker Petagna.
