SERIE A MATCH REPORT

Serie A Week 14 - 4 Dec 2011 (14.00 UK)
Chievo 0 - 0 Atalanta
Stadio Marc’Antonio Bentegodi

Chievo and Atalanta fought out a goalless draw, as the ‘keepers had the better over Sergio Pellissier and German Denis.

Stefano Colantuono wanted his Orobici to keep causing upsets in Serie A, as they’d be in fifth place without their six-point penalty. Ezequiel Schelotto’s suspension was a heavy blow, joining the injured Daniele Capelli. Federico Peluso lasted just six minutes before limping off with a knee problem.

Carmona couldn’t keep his volley on target, while Sergio Pellissier’s header into the ground bounced over the bar.

Davide Moscardelli had two shots in a row charged down, then Andrea Consigli did well to push the loose ball away from Pellissier.

Chievo had penalty appeals for Bellini’s push on Pellissier, but the referee waved play on and then booked him for dissent. Stefano Sorrentino rushed off his line to intercept a German Denis pass at Luca Cigarini’s feet, while before the break Denis went on a mazy run only to finish weakly.

In the second half, Sorrentino flew to palm a Denis strike round the upright for a corner.

A spectacular Drame’ volley from the edge of the box was over the bar for Chievo, while Pellissier’s splendid header skimmed the crossbar on 67 minutes.

Consigli again did well to palm another Pellissier header off the line, but neither side could find a way through.
