The Florence native had a playing career which spanned nearly two decades, featuring for the likes of Padova, Lecce and Bologna. The pinnacle of Baroni’s playing days came in the 1989-90 campaign where the defender scored the goal which secured Napoli their most recent Serie A title. Baroni added a Suppercoppa triumph the following year before ultimately retiring at hometown club Rondinella. The Italian tactician turned to management in 2000 with his boyhood team, but only stayed at the helm for one season. Since swapping his boots for the dugout, Baroni has coached 11 sides and has a contract which runs until 2019 with Benevento.
