The much travelled Delio Rossi was the last European managerial appointment in the 2014-15 campaign, as Bologna turned to him in May to ensure they got over the line in the Serie B play-offs. The club disposed of Coach Diego Lopez when it became apparent that automatic promotion was beyond them, and Rossi ensured they edged out Avellino and Pescara in the crucial play-offs due to their superior league position, as both ties ended level on aggregate.
Bologna is the third side he has guided to the top flight following promotions with Salernitana (1998) and Lecce (2003), but is best known for his four-year spell in charge of Lazio. He steadied the ship at the Biancocelesti when they were involved in the Calciopoli scandal and guided them to third place in 2007 after they had started the season on -11 points. His final campaign with the club saw them lift the 2009 Coppa Italia, their first trophy in five years.
