Alvaro Morata has revealed he was tempted to join Roma last summer to play with his friend Paulo Dybala.

The Spain international could have joined the Giallorossi in the 2023 summer transfer window, as revealed in his latest interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport.

“I liked the idea of joining Roma to play with Paulo [Dybala], in a club and in a city filled with passion, where they live football like in South America,” he said.

The 31-year-old received several calls from Serie A clubs and coaches last year, but he eventually decided to stay at Atletico and sign a contract extension until June 2026.
