Yacine Adli warns that Milan will need ‘strong players’ if they want to win a trophy next season.

Adli warns his club Milan that the team will need reinforcements next summer if they want to become Serie A title contenders in 2024-25.

The French midfielder spoke to Sport Mediaset after a 2-1 loss to Inter on Monday. It wasn’t only Milan’s sixth consecutive defeat against their city rivals, but it also led to the Nerazzurri’s 20th Scudetto.

“We have a long-term project here, but we must do more,” Adli said.

“If the club want to win, we need a strong team, we need strong players.”

Ex-Milan coach Fabio Capello said in his latest interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport, that the Rossoneri would need at least three new signings in the summer, provided that Theo Hernandez, Mike Maignan and Rafael Leao remain at San Siro in 2024-25.

Milan finished the last two seasons empty-handed and are expected to part company with their coach, Stefano Pioli, at the end of the season.

Adli, 23, has one goal and two assists in 30 appearances across all competitions this season.

“It was more than a derby because we knew Inter could win the title,” continued the French midfielder.

“Words are not enough to explain what I feel inside me. It’s more than frustration. We have disappointed our fans and it’s something that will remain inside me for a long time.”
