Oddo had a stellar career as a full-back for the likes of Napoli, Milan, Lazio and Bayern Munich. After retiring in 2012, he studied for a year and worked his way up through the ranks of the Genoa and Pescara youth academies.
He was promoted to the senior bench in May 2015 when there was only one round left in the Serie B season, replacing sacked Marco Baroni. What was meant to be a simple caretaker role turned into an huge adventure, as he steered the Delfini to victory and reached the play-off final, missing out on promotion to Bologna after two draws only on their regular season record.
Given the job permanently that summer, Oddo got them to the play-offs again via a club record seven consecutive victories and this time successfully overcame the last hurdle to Serie A. Pescara proved their faith in the Coach by signing him on to June 2018.
