Exams undergone by Romelu Lukaku on Friday confirm the Belgian suffered a muscle injury, but it is still unclear how long he will remain out of action.

The Belgian forward was subbed off at minute 29 last night after suffering an injury in a 2-1 win over Milan in the Europa League quarter-final second leg.

The Chelsea loanee underwent medical tests on Friday morning and Sky Sport Italia’s Angelo Mangiante reports on X, formerly Twitter, that the striker’s injury is muscular and does not concern the meniscus or the collateral knee ligament.

However, it is still unclear how long the Belgian must remain out of action. Lukaku will undergo further medical tests within 48 or 36 hours to determine the exact nature of his injury and how long he’ll be forced to the sidelines.

Lukaku has scored 18 goals in 41 appearances across all competitions this season.

Roma will meet Bologna, Napoli, Juventus, Atalanta, Genoa and Milan in the final six Serie A games of the season and will be facing Bayer Leverkusen in the Europa League semifinals.
