Italy confirm two friendlies

Cesare Prandelli’s Italy have announced friendlies against Luxembourg and Russia in the lead-up to Euro 2012.

The Azzurri are set to come together in mid-May for pre-tournament preparations.

These will include a match on May 29 against Luxembourg, which will be on Italian soil with the venue still to be confirmed.

It will be their first time against Luxembourg since a 3-0 victory in April 1988.

Another game will take place at the Letzigrund Stadium in Zurich against Russia on June 1, kick-off 19.45 UK time.

The Nazionale’s record with Russia is of three wins and a draw, the most recent result being 2-0 in Cagliari in February 2005.

Italy will have their base camp in Cracow for the European Championships in Poland and Ukraine.
