Udinese look to Champions League

Udinese will now concentrate on finishing the campaign in third after being dumped out of the Europa League.

The Bianconeri fell to a 3-2 aggregate loss to AZ last night, leaving them with just Serie A to focus on for the rest of the season.

“There is no doubt that we are now battling for a top-three finish,” the attacking midfielder told Radio Sportiva. “We are in with a fighting chance.

“It will all depend on how we now face the rest of the campaign. Sunday’s game against Napoli will be an important tie in this respect.”

Udinese reached the preliminaries of the Champions League after finishing fourth last term, but Serie A has now lost one of its Champions League spots to Germany.

Udinese are currently joint fourth in the standings, with Napoli, two points behind third-placed Lazio.
