Bayern join chase for Bonucci
Thursday 18 March, 2010

German giants Bayern Munich are also in the hunt to sign Bari centre-back Leonardo Bonucci, according to his agent.

The 22-year-old, who is part-owned by Genoa, has been a revelation in Serie A this season, so much so that Italy boss Marcello Lippi handed Bonucci his first cap earlier this month.

Juventus and Inter look set to battle it out for his signature this summer, but as the player's agent reveals there is substantial foreign interest too.

Speaking to Tutto Mercato Web, Davide Torchia said: “By now several different stories appear almost every day about Leonardo.

“I can say that Bayern are one club among the foreign ones interested who are following Leonardo, but first we need to resolve his part-ownership deal and then we'll see.

“He only has to think about finishing the season well with Bari, especially because the last few games are very important for him,” Torchia concluded.

Bonucci started his career with Inter. They sold him to Genoa last summer as part of the deal that saw Diego Milito and Thiago Motta go to San Siro.
