Frey ready for Genoa adventure

Sebastien Frey is looking forward to the season after his move from Fiorentina to Serie A rivals Genoa.

The custodian has joined the port outfit this week after being told to find a new club by the Viola.

"I can't wait to get started," the goalkeeper told Genoa's website. "I'm in the city today and I'll start looking for a new house tomorrow…

"I have already spoken with Dario Dainelli about Genoa and he's told me that it is one big family."

Frey will replace Eduardo in goal after the latter left for Benfica and Inter's Emiliano Viviano, who was expected to step in for the Portuguese international, tore knee ligaments.

Frey, 31, has been playing his football in Italy since he was signed as an 18-year-old by Inter in 1998.

He joined the Viola in 2005 after four years with Parma. He was on €2m a season net at the Stadio Artemio Franchi.

The net-minder will be presented to the media by the Grifone on Wednesday.

Fiorentina showed Frey the door in favour of keeping Artur Boruc and Norbeto Neto at the club.
