Juventus are hoping to take advantage of Sampdoria’s interest in Alex Manninger to make a move for Andrea Poli.
Doria stated yesterday that they are very close to agreeing a deal for the veteran Austrian goalkeeper.
However, according to Il Secolo XIX, Juve director general Beppe Marotta has decided to complicate discussions.
Marotta is a big fan of midfielder Poli, a player whom he actually signed for the port club during his time as a Doria director.
It is being claimed that Marotta, as well as handing over Manninger, will ask the Serie B club for a half-share in the Italian Under-21 international.
Sampdoria have admitted that they do need to trim their options in midfield following last term’s shock relegation.
It’s understood that Sampdoria rejected an earlier approach this summer from Juventus for Poli.
