Simon Kjaer is still being linked with a move from Wolfsburg to Roma before the start of the new campaign.
Although the capital giants have replaced Philippe Mexes with Gabriel Heinze this summer, they are still keen on bringing in another new centre-back.
The Danish international has been mentioned as a possible target of Roma sporting director Walter Sabatini, a player he knows well given their time together at Palermo.
It's being suggested that Roma have had a €6m offer rejected by the German club for a stopper who cost them almost double that a year ago.
However, it's now being claimed that Sabatini could try to bring the player in on a loan with an option to buy understanding.
Kjaer, 22, has also been paired with Juventus.
