Gian Piero Gasperini concedes Inter lost their way in the Italian Super Cup. “It's a real shame, as we had the game in hand. Wesley Sneijder? We'll see.”
The Nerazzurri were 1-0 up at half-time with Wesley Sneijder's goal, but Milan fought back to win 2-1 thanks to two goals in eight minutes from Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Kevin-Prince Boateng.
“We played less well after the break in defence, especially compared to what we had done in the first half,” said the Coach.
“It's a real shame, as we had the game in hand and deserved to be in that position. If only we had known how to control the tempo better at the start of the second half...
“In any case, this was a wonderful experience, especially for the enthusiastic reception we received from the people who follow Inter and Italian football in China.
“In general, we had a good game, especially in the first half, so there is even more regret at not being able to win.”
Gasperini was asked about Sneijder, who seemed very tense in Beijing and has been heavily linked with both Manchester United and Manchester City.
“I don't know. We'll think about it next week if there is this development.”
