Gasperini: 'Sneijder? We'll see'

Gian Piero Gasperini has left the door wide open for Wesley Sneijder's move to Manchester. “I don't know. We'll see what happens.”

The Gazzetta dello Sport splashed the news across its front page this morning that an agreement with Manchester City was a done deal for €36m, plus a contract worth €6m per season.

It would be a surprise considering their rivals Manchester United had been pushing for the Dutchman all summer.

“I don't know, we'll think about it next week, if the situation develops, and see what happens,” said the Coach during a Press conference in Beijing.

Inter were defeated 2-1 by Milan for the Italian Super Cup and Sneijder was on target, but also seemed extremely irritable.

“Did Sneijder tell me he wants to leave? That has never been said by the player,” was Gasperini's rather cryptic response.

It does not rule out the rumour his agent has been pushing for a transfer away from San Siro.

This is not the only controversy, as there are also reports around Samuel Eto'o and Thiago Motta.

“Maybe these situations were around before I even got here, as for months the newspapers and televisions have been talking about the future of Sneijder, Eto'o and Thiago Motta.

“All this is read and listened to, but nobody can actually predict what will happen in the remaining 25 days of the transfer market.

“What I can say is that I know at the end of August Inter will be in any case strong, solid and competitive.”
