With reports Mauro Zarate is heading to Tottenham, Lazio director Igli Tare admits “we'll see what happens.”
The Argentine was warned by Coach Edy Reja this week that tough decisions would have to be made.
The arrival of players like Miroslav Klose and Djibril Cisse could push Zarate on to the sidelines again, or force him into a wider role he already complained about last season.
“Zarate's future? We'll see what happens,” was director of sport Tare's response to questions from the media.
“He is an important player for Lazio and is putting in a lot of effort.”
Zarate's own agent confirmed this week that he was available for €20m, but finding a club willing to pay that sum could be tricky.
There are reports that the Premier League could provide Maurito's destination, as Tottenham are showing a strong interest.
Spurs had already been linked with Zarate back in January, but the deal never quite came together.
