Udinese have a tough Champions League draw, but realise “it is an honour for us to face a team like Arsenal.”
The Friulani picked the Premier League giants in the preliminary round with the first leg in London on August 16 and the decider on August 24.
“We are aware of their worth,” director of sport Fabrizio Larini told the official Udinese website.
“They were the strongest team in the draw, but we must be motivated by the idea of facing such a prestigious side and measuring ourselves up at the Emirates.
“It is an honour and a source of pride for us to face a team like Arsenal at the Stadio Friuli.”
The fans are concerned at the lack of reinforcements, especially after Alexis Sanchez and Gokhan Inler were sold to Barcelona and Napoli respectively.
“We are working to strengthen the team, but are planning long-term and not based on two games. We must work rationally and not get caught up in the moment.”
