Catania have joined Bologna as a possible destination for Juventus youngster Frederik Sorensen.
The Stadio Dall'Ara outfit were considered to be in pole position to land the young Dane from the Old Lady in a co-ownership deal.
However, the Rossoblu have now hesitated which may have allowed Catania to overtake them in the race for the 19-year-old.
The Sicilian side are understood to be willing to buy a 50 per cent stake in the defender who can be used both as a centre-back and a right-back.
Sorensen was a revelation in Turin last season when he was promoted to the first team from the Primavera set-up.
