Marco Di Vaio has told Gaston Ramirez to put his future ambitions on hold by remaining at Bologna.
The young Uruguayan has made it clear that he'd like to move on after links with Roma, Udinese and Fiorentina this summer.
"I understand that he wants to play his football at a higher level," the Rossoblu captain noted.
"However, he has a lot of time ahead of him to test himself against the very best. Another year for him at Bologna would do him good.
"There was a public war of words between the player, his agent and the club which helped nobody, all it did was create tension.
"I just hope that Gaston can now talk to the club in order to clear up this matter."
The attacking midfielder, just 20, is understood to be valued at a massive €15m by the Stadio Dall'Ara club.
