Stefano Sorrentino has admitted that he's hoping to join Palermo from Chievo Verona before the season starts.
The Rosanero are looking for a new goalkeeper after selling Salvatore Sirigu to French giants Paris SG.
"I want Palermo," the 32-year-old custodian commented. "This is the last train that I could catch."
Sorrentino is on the Rosanero's transfer shortlist and his cause is helped by Stefano Pioli, the Coach who left Chievo for Palermo earlier this summer.
While the former Juventus and Torino 'keeper has made it clear that he would be willing to join, there are complications.
Chievo value the goalkeeper highly and so far the two clubs have been unable to agree a fee for the Italian.
Sorrentino has been at the Stadio Bentegodi since his 2008 move from Spanish side Recreativo Huelva.
