Italy Coach Cesare Prandelli encourages Napoli to step up their bid for Giuseppe Rossi. “With him, they could really dream.”
Rossi will start alongside Antonio Cassano in tonight's Italy-Spain friendly at the Stadio San Nicola and has been linked with a move to the San Paolo.
“Pepito is mature now and has extraordinary qualities,” Prandelli told Raisport.
“Napoli want him? Well, with him they really could dream. As for Cassano, he knows that he has lost some opportunities along the way, but he seemed very motivated and determined. He wants to go to Euro 2012.”
Mario Balotelli is on the bench and the troubled Manchester City star is expected to make an appearance in the second half.
“He needs to grow, but above all understand that if he does, his physical strength can be a devastating weapon.”
The Azzurri manager also cast his eye over the recent Serie A developments, such as Atalanta docked six points from this season for Cristiano Doni and Thomas Manfredini's betting scandal.
“I know the Atalanta environment well, just as I know their President and how many sacrifices he makes for the club.
“The sanction on the club is certainly a heavy one. The rules on clubs being indirectly responsible for the actions of their players must absolutely be reviewed.
“We all hoped Doni and Beppe Signori would emerge unscathed, but the bans are terrible blows for them. We'll await the appeal, but for the moment I am very close to both.”
Doni was banned for three years, while Signori has been suspended for five.
