Fiorentina and Argentina legend Gabriel Batistuta has rejected claims that he today finds himself in poor health. "I'm fine."
Reports over the last few days had started to circulate that Batigol was struggling to even walk because of knee problems.
However, talking to Il Giornale della Toscana, the now 42-year-old reassured anxious fans that the whispers are wide of the mark.
"I know what people are saying in Italy, but I'm doing well," the Roma Scudetto winner underlined.
"A lot of people are worried about my health, but I'm fine. The people I met in Florence a month ago can confirm that.
"I can walk without any problems and I even played golf with Italy boss Cesare Prandelli," he continued.
"My knees have never really given me any great problems, even if I have had difficulties with my ankles.
"I don't play football anymore, but I walk, run, and enjoy myself playing polo and golf."
Batistuta moved to Italy in 1991 when he was signed by Fiorentina, before spells at Roma and Inter. He left the peninsula in 2003.
