David Suazo is expected to complete a move to Catania at some point in the next 24 hours, reports claim.
After possible transfers to Cagliari and Novara fell through, the veteran striker has seemingly agreed to a Sicilian switch.
Suazo's agent met with Catania President Antonino Pulvirenti and director Pietro Lo Monaco for talks yesterday.
If all goes well, Suazo could be at the disposal of boss Vincenzo Montella as soon as Saturday afternoon.
The veteran striker is available on a free transfer after his contract at Italian giants Inter expired in June.
Suazo scored 102 goals in 276 games in all competitions for Cagliari during his eight-year stint with the Rossoblu.
He netted eight goals in just 28 Serie A appearances for Inter during his problematic four years with the Nerazzurri.
He also had loan spells at Benfica and Genoa during that time.
The forward will celebrate his 32nd birthday in November.
