David Suazo put the chaotic Cagliari situation behind him and is “proud to be wearing the Catania jersey. I want to prove what I can do.”
The former Inter striker had been training with Cagliari for over a week, but following a dispute over the contract proposed to him, was told to leave.
On Friday the Honduras international completed his transfer to Catania instead.
“I am happy with this opportunity. I'm determined to do well, become a protagonist again and prove what I can do,” said Suazo.
“I am proud to be wearing the Catania jersey and hope to give the fans many moments of joy.
“I want to get back to feeling the joy of the pitch and contact with crowds and even the media, as I haven't experienced this in far too long.
“Do I have something to prove to Cagliari? I have to prove it to many people, but this is not the time for that. I just want to focus on football.”
Suazo has chosen shirt number 9 and is on a one-year contract with an option for a second term.
