Roma are in talks for Nilmar, but Luis Enrique admits Pablo Daniel Osvaldo is another option. “He has the advantage.”
The Giallorossi have made it clear they want a new striker and are looking to La Liga for inspiration.
Villarreal want at least €20m for Nilmar, but reports are emerging that Espanyol are prepared to part with 25-year-old Osvaldo for €16m plus €1m in performance-related bonuses.
“He has the advantage of having already played, and made his mistakes, in Italy,” said Coach Enrique.
“The price-tag is high, but also in line with what he has shown in Spain.”
Osvaldo is half-Italian, half-Argentinean and played for the Azzurrini at Under-21 level.
His club sides were Huracan, Atalanta, Lecce, Fiorentina and Bologna before joining Espanyol in August 2010.
