Gian Piero Gasperini is happy with the return of Inter's South Americans. “They looked to be in good shape.”
The Nerazzurri ran out 5-1 winners today against their own Juniores Beretti youth team, which saw the likes of Diego Milito, Esteban Cambiasso, Lucio, Douglas Maicon and Jonathan make seasonal debuts.
“It was a good training session with strong tempo and intensity, especially in the first half, and also showed that our youth academy has some great talent,” he told Inter Channel.
The game lasted 77 minutes in total and marked the return of those who were given extended vacation time after the Copa America.
“The lads who arrived over the last few days looked to be in good shape, not too far from the fitness levels of their teammates. This means they have done the work even while on holiday,” added Coach Gasperini.
