“I am going to play with my idol Ezequiel Lavezzi at Napoli. It's a dream come true,” revealed San Lorenzo striker Christian Gabriel Chavez.
The 24-year-old gave an interview to the Argentine Press confirming he is on the verge of completing a transfer to the San Paolo.
“This option has been in the works for a long time and now it has finally come to a head,” explained Chavez.
“It is more than a dream for me, as everyone wants to play in Europe. I am going to play with Lavezzi, my idol, so it's a dream come true.”
The reports state Napoli have agreed a transfer fee, but as with many South American players, his ownership is a complex matter.
Half of Chavez's contract is owned by a local group of investors and they will pay the €1.3m to buy him out from San Lorenzo, then sell the player to Napoli for €3m.
