Catania answer Legrottaglie's prayers?

Sicilian club Catania could come to the rescue of former Italian international Nicola Legrottaglie.

The deeply religious defender is out of contract after Milan opted against offering him a new deal at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza.

The 35-year-old yesterday admitted that he would perhaps consider retirement, but Catania are now being linked with his services.

The Massimino outfit are looking for a new centre-back after they sold Matias Silvestre to island rivals Palermo.
