Russian club Anzhi Makhachkala are hopeful that they will wrap up a deal to sign Samuel Eto'o from Inter.
Talks between all parties have taken place in Milan today and a positive outcome is on the horizon.
"We are very close," Anzhi market consultant German Tkachenko stated. "We could close the deal today, tomorrow or next week.
"For now Eto'o is still an Inter player, but I am optimistic that it will be done."
Anzhi met their Inter counterparts earlier this afternoon. Eto'o's agent Peppino Tirri also made a brief appearance at the Italian club's HQ.
Meanwhile, it is claimed that Eto'o met with Russian officials at a Milan hotel to discuss personal terms.
It's believed that he will sign a three-year deal worth more than €15m a campaign.
It remains to be seen whether Eto'o, as was expected, will have his medical in Rome on Thursday before flying out to Moscow on Friday.
Inter are set to net around €30m from the 30-year-old's sale.
