Fiorentina ace Alberto Gilardino is edging closer to a switch to Genoa, reports in the port city are suggesting.
The Rossoblu have targeted the Italian international and the player himself is said to be keen on the switch.
Although it seems that all parties are happy for the transfer to take place, financial details still need to be resolved.
Fiorentina initially wanted €15m for the former Milan striker, but the Rossoblu are hoping to tempt them into a sale by offering €11m plus another €2m in bonuses.
As for the player himself, it is being suggested that he will accept a reduction from his present €2m a season salary.
Genoa are ready to give him a five-year deal, with an option for a sixth, worth €1.6m a campaign.
Should the Viola sell Gila they are then expected to make an offer to Catania for Argentine forward Maxi Lopez.
