Parma have almost admitted defeat in the chase to sign Juventus striker Amauri this summer.
The Tardini outfit want to net the player, who scored seven goals in 11 games during his six month loan spell last term, on a permanent basis.
However, director Pietro Leonardi has warned fans that the club are likely to miss out on the Italian international.
"I have always said that signing Amauri would be very complicated because I didn't want to give the fans false hope," the official noted.
"That has always been my thought and that hasn't changed with the season on the horizon and the transfer window set to close.
"The market can always spring a surprise, but I am convinced that we have very little chance of getting Amauri."
Juve want around €7m for the Brazilian-born player and he currently earns almost €4m a season in Turin.
Meanwhile, Leonardi also dismissed suggestions that Fulham had made a €4m offer for right-back Cristian Zaccardo.
