Milan boss Massimiliano Allegri was pleased with his side's display in the 2-1 win over Juventus on Sunday.
The Rossoneri won the 21st annual Trofeo Berlusconi match, in part thanks to an impressive opening 45 minutes at San Siro.
"We were excellent in the first half," the tactician noted. "After the break, because of the heat, we changed a few roles.
"The boys did really well to bring home the victory. I wanted to see what condition they were in and they seem in great shape.
The former Cagliari boss was inevitably asked about the transfer market and the mystery Mr X signing.
"If someone arrives then it will be an important player who is good enough for Milan," he continued.
"Andrea Pirlo left and nobody has come in to replace him.
"It would be good if someone arrived, but if that doesn't happen then we will still be fine."
