Cambiasso on Inter after Eto'o

Esteban Cambiasso is confident that Inter will be competitive in 2011-12 even without Samuel Eto'o.

The Cameroon international is set to leave the club after Anzhi officials resumed talks with the Nerazzurri on Monday.

The former Barcelona man has scored 53 goals in 101 games for the outfit, but Cambiasso doesn't fear his exit.

"He's a player who has helped us a lot in the last couple of seasons," the Argentine noted.

"His transfer hasn't been made official yet, but in Inter's history there have been lots of great champions who have moved on to other things and afterwards Inter was still Inter – that's all that matters.

"Two years ago we lost a player who wasn't half bad and I think I remember us doing quite well the season after that..."

The former Real Madrid man was referring to Zlatan Ibrahimovic's sale to Barcelona, in a move that included Eto'o.

The Nerazzurri won the treble following the Swede's exit.
