Lazio's Mauro Zarate is looking like a possible transfer target for Inter once the latter sell Samuel Eto'o.
The striker is expected to complete his move to Anzhi in the next 24 hours and boss Gian Piero Gasperini has called for reinforcements.
Although Napoli's Ezequiel Lavezzi is understood to be at the top of the tactician's wish-list, Napoli are unlikely to sell unless Inter offer the €31m fee needed to activate his rescission clause.
As a result, Zarate is the more likely arrival given that Lazio are ready to release him this summer.
However, one of the two clubs would have to compromise with the other with regards to the terms of the transfer.
Lazio want to sell the player outright for around €18m, while the Nerazzurri would prefer to take him on a temporary basis.
There is the possibility that the Argentine could thus join the Milan side on loan, but with the understanding that Inter will then be forced to buy him next summer.
