Balotelli too pricey for Palermo

Palermo have rejected speculation that they could sign Manchester City forward Mario Balotelli.

The Italian is quoted as telling a friend that he'd like to play his football for the Sicilian club, but the Rosanero have been quick to quash the speculation.

"We didn't keep Javier Pastore because of problems over his wages, so there is no way we can get Balotelli," President Maurizio Zamparini noted.

"Mario is a player worthy of Milan, Inter and Juventus, but even these clubs would struggle to match what City give him.

"There is no way we could…"

Balotelli, 21, joined the Premiership club in 2010 after 28 goals in 86 games across all competitions for the Nerazzurri.
