Reports in Italy suggest Milan could complete their swoop for Alberto Aquilani within hours, on loan from Liverpool with a €6m clause.
The midfielder said last week he was “close” to joining the Rossoneri and it's rumoured that deal could be completed on Wednesday.
The move would be on loan with a €6m fee that becomes automatic at Aquilani's 25th appearance for Milan.
The payment would be spread out at €2m per year starting from 2012.
He would be handed a contract worth €2.5m per season and could make his debut on Saturday in the Serie A opener against Cagliari.
